Olivia: My dad bought me a leather coat that was sort of like Tony’s at a thrift store. It’s even almost the same color but it’s too big so I haven’t worn it yet.

Connie: You should wear it when we interview a band!

Olivia: Motion City Soundtrack was supposed to play at the Bunbury Festival that we went to but they said they went and played in Japan or somewhere like that instead.

Connie: We hope they’ll play at Bunbury in 2013!

The Smashing Pumpkins Mon, 10 Dec 2012 11:00:45 +0000

We’d like to thank Louise Post of Veruca Salt for helping us set this interview up. She told her former Veruca Salt bandmate Nicole Fiorentino that she HAD to talk to the girls when the Smashing Pumpkins came to Columbus.

Connie: Our dads were really excited that we were going to interview the Smashing Pumpkins.

Olivia: I know! My dad said that this was one of his favorite bands from when he was in college.

Connie: We interviewed the opening band first (Five Knives) and then got interviewed for a magazine (614 Magazine) before we did this interview.

Olivia: Right in the middle of the interview the other band started playing so we had to wait until they were done but Nicole started dancing so we did too.

Stick around for the “bonus” dance footage at the end of the interview.

Now, Now Thu, 06 Dec 2012 11:00:39 +0000

Olivia: Connie had to go to tennis practice so I interviewed Now, Now by myself. We had already interviewed Motion City Soundtrack and Jukebox the Ghost. We got to see Now, Now play a few songs at Bunbury and you can hear them in the background when we interviewed Neon Trees.

Trapper Schoepp & The Shades Mon, 03 Dec 2012 11:00:50 +0000

Olivia: We did this interview on my birthday! That’s all I really wanted to do for my birthday was to interview a band.

Connie: We didn’t know how to say Trapper’s last name but his manager told us.

Olivia: We didn’t have time to make cookies to share for my birthday so we bought some and gave them to Trapper.

Connie: I think he thought we were sisters :)

Matt and Kim Thu, 29 Nov 2012 11:00:16 +0000

Olivia: My dad was in Iowa for work when we did this interview. He was really mad that he couldn’t be here for it. I didn’t want to make him feel bad, but Connie and I had a really good time interviewing Matt and Kim.

Connie: They were so much fun and so nice!

Olivia: They gave us t-shirts and balloons. My favorite part was playing around after we finished the interview.

Connie: I surprised them. You’ll see how surprised they were when you watch the interview.

Grouplove Mon, 26 Nov 2012 11:30:24 +0000

Connie: We got to see Grouplove in concert at Bunbury in July. Olivia and I really wanted to interview them there but we didn’t see them before or after their concert.

Olivia: My mom and I both have Grouplove on our iPods and we always listen to them when we are driving around. My favorite song is “Colours”. My mom’s favorite song is “Chloe”. Grouplove’s manager called my dad when we were driving to the interview and he said that Christian (the singer) wasn’t going to be at the interview. I was sad, that’s who I really wanted to interview.

Connie: The guys wanted to do the interview at a table with chairs. Hannah wanted to do the interview where they were selling t-shirts and she said that if we did the interview there, she’d give us free t-shirts!

Olivia: I was singing “And I see black, black, green, and brown, brown, brown and blue, yellow, violets, red” (dad note: lyrics from the song “Colours”) in the car on the way to the interview and then Hannah gave me a shirt that said “black, black, green, and brown, brown, brown and blue, yellow, violets, red” on it!

Connie: We wish Christian was there but the rest of the band was really nice and funny so it was okay that he didn’t do the interview with us.

Quiet Corral (Part 2) Wed, 21 Nov 2012 11:00:39 +0000

(One of the first interviews the girls did was with Issac and Jessie from Quiet Corral. The girls talked to these two at the Bunbury Music Festival in mid-July. The band performed in Columbus in October and the girls had the chance to speak with two other members of the band, Zach and Matt.)

Olivia: Our parents saw Quiet Corral when they played here with Gomez and the band gave our parents t-shirts to give to us so we wore them for the interview.

Connie: Issac said we should talk to some of the other guys since we already interviewed him so we interviewed Zach and Matt.

Olivia: Issac and Connie’s dad were watching while we interviewed Zach and Matt. They were laughing at some of the answers.

Connie: There are still a few guys in Quiet Corral who we haven’t interviewed yet so if they come back to Columbus …

Quiet Company Mon, 19 Nov 2012 11:00:22 +0000

Connie: This was the longest interview we ever did.

Olivia: We were excited to interview Quiet Company because their manager sent us t-shirts, CDs, and DVDs. This was the first time a band ever gave us anything.

Connie: They had a lot of funny answers. When we started the interview it was light out but by the time we got to the end, it was dark.

Olivia: I know! You can’t even see anything at the end of the video!

Youngblood Hawke Thu, 15 Nov 2012 13:25:24 +0000

Connie: Olivia and I love “We Come Running”. We hear it on XM every time our dads take us to do interviews.

Olivia: When my dad said that we were going to interview Youngblood Hawke I was so excited. I wanted to do an interview on my birthday. We did this interview one day before my birthday but that still counts.

Connie: Youngblood Hawke took us backstage to do the interview. Their dressing room was pretty small for 5 people.

Olivia: There are lots of funny parts in this interview. And, this is the first time that a band wanted to interview us!

Dad note: After the girls ended the interview, Youngblood Hawke turned the tables and asked the girls if they wouldn’t mind answering some questions. Connie and Olivia discovered it’s hard being on the other side and having to answer questions! :)

Theory of a Deadman Mon, 12 Nov 2012 05:10:33 +0000

Connie: We’ve done a lot of interviews in different places but this was the first one we did on a tour bus. It was cool!

Olivia: The windows were open and some people walked by and Tyler yelled out to them, “O-H”.

(Dad note: the interview was done across the street from the Ohio State University campus, on a football game day)

Connie: If Tyler is reading this, we want to know if you told Olivia’s knock-knock joke at your concert?
